[About Artist]
Ross Fuel Born in 1994 in Baku, Azerbaijan, at the crossroads of the collapsing socialist era and the dawn of emerging capitalism, Ross Fuel’s journey is one of transformation and artistic exploration. In 2009, he moved to Israel, where he later pursued studies in Performance and Acting Arts at the esteemed Elad Theater.
However, in the final year of his studies, the pandemic and ensuing lockdown brought his theatrical pursuits to an unexpected halt. Isolated within the confines of his apartment, unable to perform on stage or find his creative space, Ross turned inward, seeking new ways to channel his energy.

[That's what he says about it]
"Suddenly, on an intuitive level, I began to draw with pastel that I found at home, simply re-drawing the surrounding reality."
It was during this time of introspection that a powerful, almost instinctual message emerged from the depths of his consciousness:
“Start learning to draw.” Driven by an overwhelming urge to set aside everything he was doing and pick up a brush, Ross quickly enrolled in a drawing course, diving headfirst into the creative process. Over time, he honed his skills, eventually discovering a deep connection to bold, abstract painting as the most genuine means of expressing his emotions."
Drawing from his experience in acting, Ross has developed a unique way of creating, often producing his pieces during live performances. His work is inspired by his travels, diverse cultures, and the vivid experiences he encounters—from hiking in mountains to participating in shamanic ceremonies, attending music festivals, or engaging in meaningful conversations with positive, open-minded individuals. At the heart of his practice lies one core theme: MOVEMENT. Movement, both literal and emotional, is what drives his artistic journey.
Artist Statement
“My art is the result of an ongoing search for drive and adventure—an exploration of emotions through spontaneous, unfiltered expression.”

Ross’s artistic vision is deeply influenced by the genre of Gonzo art, a style that reflects his personal philosophy of embracing the unknown and surrendering to the flow of life. In his early 20's, Ross ventured across Europe, hitchhiking and trekking through mountains and forests. During these formative years, he discovered the works of Jack Kerouac and Hunter S. Thompson, whose fearless narratives of immersion in chaos and discovery became a source of inspiration. What resonated with him most was their ability to throw themselves into unknown situations and transmute their experiences into raw, passionate, and often manic prose, written in the heat of the moment.
This sense of adventure and relentless pursuit of experience deeply influenced Ross’s approach to art. His works are often created in the immediate aftermath of intense moments, fueled by powerful emotions and heightened states of mind. For Ross, each piece is a direct response to the thrill of the unknown and the desire to capture that raw, fleeting energy before it slips away. It is this spontaneity and emotional intensity that defines his work—a celebration of the chaotic beauty of life, movement, and self-expression.
In May 2022, Ross embarked on a transformative journey to Bangkok, seeking inspiration through an immersive exploration of movement embodied in the art of Muay Thai. This profound experience ignited a creative process that culminated in the development of a new series of artworks, each reflecting the dynamic interplay of energy, rhythm, and form discovered during this unique cultural and artistic exploration.
